(Palo Alto, California) – LAWFUEL – Legal News Network – Abrar Hussain has joined Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP as senior counsel in the firm’s corporate practice in Silicon Valley, the firm announced today.
Mr. Hussain’s practice focuses on India-related matters. He has advised private equity firms, venture capital firms, public and private technology companies, angel investors and foreign companies – including emerging Indian multinational companies – in mergers and acquisitions, strategic alliances and joint ventures, secured and unsecured debt agreements, equity financing agreements, and licensing and technology matters. He joins the firm from Greenberg Traurig, where he was of counsel.
Mr. Hussain previously was a founding partner of The Safina Group, LLP, a boutique law firm focused on commercial transactions for domestic and international companies doing business in Asia. Earlier, he was the president and general counsel of Relatia, Inc. and the COO and general counsel of NewCore Networks, Inc.
Mr. Hussain received his B.A. from Cornell University in 1993 and his J.D. from the Vanderbilt University School of Law in 1996. He is a charter member of the Silicon Valley chapter of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), the world’s largest entrepreneurial organization, and co-chair of its publications committee.
