Singapore – LAWFUEL – First for law news – International law firm Clifford Chance has advised UBS Limited (“UBS”) and Standard Chartered Bank (“SCB”) on the US$100 million 6.875% Notes issued by Sri Lanka Telecom on 30 November 2004. This offering represents Sri Lanka Telecom’s debut in the international bond markets and is also Sri Lanka’s first fixed rate transaction and first rated offering.

The offering attracted an order book of US$1 billion and the Notes are listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange.

The Clifford Chance team advising UBS and SCB was led by Singapore-based capital markets partner Crawford Brickley, assisted by Martine Vanasse and Vijay Jeyaratnam, both associates in the Singapore office.

British MP George Galloway and his opponent the Daily Telegraph will leave no stone unturned to sort out what could be a spectacular libel case.
