Summer associates participate in dragon boat race to support mission of breast cancer survivors
LAWFUEL – Press Release Service – On Monday, June 12, 2006, the summer associates of Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll, LLP will met at the Temple Boathouse Dock in Fairmount Park to participate in a dragon boat race against Hope Afloat USA, a breast cancer survivor dragon boat team ranked first in the United States and second in the World. The warm-up and race will last from approximately 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Ballard’s support of local non-profit organizations and the firm’s pro bono activities are important aspects of Ballard’s community involvement. The firm is pleased to support the remarkable efforts of Hope Afloat and its mission. Hope Afloat is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing hope, support, camaraderie and adventure for breast cancer survivors. Hope Afloat’s mission is to help breast cancer survivors make positive emotional, spiritual, and physical changes through the ancient sport of dragon boat racing, regardless of age or athletic ability. Hope Afloat travels throughout the United States and Canada to participate in races. Ballard supports Hope Afloat’s mission by accepting the team’s challenge and making a financial donation to the team.
