TORONTO (November 21, 2006) – LAWFUEL – Law News Network – Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP (Blakes), one of Canada’s leading full-service business law firms, today announced that Anne Stewart, Q.C., one of the Firm’s Partners, received the 2006 “Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100” award in the Professionals category. The award is given by the Women’s Executive Network (WXN) to “women professionals in practice who play a senior leadership role within their organization,” and was presented to Anne at a ceremony held today in conjunction with the Canada’s Most Powerful Women Summit.

Anne currently sits on the board of the Minerva Foundation for BC Women and is the visionary behind the award-winning Minerva Helping Women Work (MHWW) program. This program is an innovative career-mentoring program that supports women re-entering the workforce. In recognition of her work with St. John Ambulance, Anne received the Queen’s Jubilee Medal in 2003 and, in 2005, she was bestowed the prestigious title of Dame of the Order of St. John (the female equivalent of a knight).

Anne is also the winner of Business in Vancouver’s 2006 “Influential Women in Business” award, and has been acknowledged as one of “Canada’s Top 25 Women Lawyers” by Lexpert magazine in September 2003.
