WASHINGTON, D.C., – April 21, 2005 – Holland & Knight LLP is pleased to announce that Janis Schiff, Deputy Section Leader of the firm’s Real Estate Section, has been re-elected to serve on the firm’s Directors’ Committee. The election occurred at the firm’s annual partners meeting, recently held in Orlando, Florida.
Schiff, a partner in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, focuses her practice in the areas of retail development and leasing. Schiff founded and continues to oversee Holland & Knight’s Rising Stars program, a year-long professional development program that provides hands-on leadership, marketing and management training, professional mentoring and experiential learning for five women attorneys who have practiced for seven or more years. Schiff earned her B.A. cum laude from Brandeis University in 1980 and her J.D. from Suffolk University Law School in 1983.
The Directors’ Committee consists of 24 partners from Holland & Knight’s offices around the country and is the policy-making body of the firm. Members of the Directors’ Committee are elected for three-year terms.
