Washington, D.C., August 14, 2006 … Latham & Watkins LLP1 is pleased to announce that Donald Remy will join the firm’s Washington, D.C. office as a partner in the Litigation Department effective September 1, 2006. Remy joins Latham from Fannie Mae where he has served as the Senior Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer.

Prior to joining Fannie Mae, Remy served as Deputy Assistant Attorney General of the United States with responsibility for the daily management and leadership of the Torts Branch of the Department of Justice. During his tenure at the Department, Remy also served as head of the Civil Division’s Federal Programs Branch and as the Senior Counsel for Policy.

From 1991 through 1995, as a Captain in the United States Army, Remy held the positions of Assistant to the General Counsel of the Army, Special Counsel to the Secretary of Defense, and Special Assistant to the Deputy Undersecretary of Defense.

Remy served as clerk to the Honorable Nathaniel Jones, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He is a 1991 graduate of Howard University School of Law and received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University in 1988.
