WASHINGTON, D.C., May 2, 2005 – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – O’Melveny & Myers LLP announced today that Thomas E. Donilon is rejoining the firm as a partner in its Strategic Counseling practice and will reside in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. During his previous tenure as a partner at O’Melveny & Myers, Donilon specialized in domestic and international litigation and counseling on a range of antitrust and policy matters.

Donilon rejoins O’Melveny & Myers from Fannie Mae, where he most recently served as Executive Vice President for Law and Policy and Secretary to the Board of Directors. Donilon joined Fannie Mae in September 1999 as Senior Vice President and General Counsel and became a member of the company’s Office of the Chairman in July 2003.

From 1993 to 1996, Donilon served as Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs and Chief of Staff to Secretary of State Warren Christopher, O’Melveny & Myers’ Senior Partner. In that capacity, Donilon was deeply involved in a broad range of policy issues, including the Bosnia and Middle East peace negotiations and the expansion of NATO. Donilon was awarded the Secretary of State’s Distinguished Service Award – the Department’s highest award – in November 1996.

Donilon is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the Brookings Institution Board of Trustees, the Aspen Strategy Group, the Miller Center of Public Affairs Governing Council, and the United States Chamber of Commerce Board of Trustees.

Donilon received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Virginia Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in politics from the Catholic University of America.
