Boston, MA, 7 August 2004 Today’s legal news, law news, law firm announcements & research at LAWFUEL–Kirkpatrick & Lockhart LLP (K&L) is pleased to announce that Derek M. Meisner has joined the firm’s Boston office as Of Counsel in its Securities Enforcement group.

Meisner most recently served as Branch Chief of the SEC’s Division of Enforcement in Washington, D.C. At the SEC, Meisner conducted and supervised prominent investigations relating to corporate financial reporting, broker-dealer/investment adviser practices, market manipulation, hedge fund trading, offerings of unregistered securities, and insider trading. He is a past recipient of the SEC’s Director’s Award and the Chairman’s Award for Excellence in recognition of his contributions to the agency’s enforcement program.

At K&L, Meisner focuses his practice on representing clients in enforcement investigations conducted by the SEC, NASD and state securities regulators, litigating securities cases, conducting corporate internal investigations, and advising clients on related corporate governance and compliance issues.
