Britney Spears paid the victim in a civil offer to compromise after she hit a car in a parking lot back in August 6, 2007. That Britney Spears pays money to get hit and run charges dropped is not unusual in California. The Penal Code always charges to be dropped in certain circumstances when a victim get monetary compensation.
On October 25, Superior Court Commissioner Susan Speer dismissed the hit and run charge because her lawyer said his client paid off the hit and run victim for an undisclosed amount. The victim, a woman whose car was hit by Spears in the illegal incident, took the money and ran. However, Britney the pop star bimbo still faces a
charge for driving without a license. Her pretrial hearing is set for November 26, 2007. The court commissioner entered a not guilty plea entered by Spears’ lawyer, Michael Flanagan for Britney.
Outside the court house, Attorney Flanagan stated that the Assistant City Attorney, Michael Amerian, gave Spears a plea deal that would have put her on one year’s probation. Attorney Flanagan stated he believed that plea was not necessary, because Spears now has a valid California driver’s license. Attorney Flanagan said Spears previously got a license in Louisiana but simply did not have a California license, because the a camera was not available at the Department of Motor Vehicles when Britney tried to get one there before the accident occurred here.
Paparazzi had photographed Spears driving her car into the parked vehicle when she tried to park. Paparazzi film showed Spears acting like a bimbo by walking away after assessing the damage ONLY to her own car. Los Angeles car accident attorneys are always chasing celebrity car accidents, but didn’t get lucky in this one.
