Bryan Cave Expands M&A/Private Equity and IP Groups in New York

NEW YORK, June 8, 2009 – LawFuel.com – Legal Announcements – The international law firm Bryan Cave LLP (www.bryancave.com) announced today that Daniel Tamkin and Charles Avigliano have joined the firm’s New York office. Tamkin joins as of counsel and will practice with the firm’s M&A and Private Equity Groups. Avigliano joins as an associate and will practice with the firm’s Intellectual Property (IP) Group.

Prior to joining Bryan Cave, Tamkin was an executive and portfolio manager for a private equity group in Toronto. Tamkin served as CEO, responsible for management activities for some of the companies within the portfolio. In some instances, he also served as general counsel, responsible for all legal matters, banking and mergers and acquisitions activities. The portfolio comprises manufacturing and marketing/service companies in the textile, packaging, electronics, furniture and finance industries in the U.S. and Canada.

Tamkin received his J.D. in 1984 from New York University Law School and his B.A. in 1981 from Columbia University.

Avigliano is returning to Bryan Cave after spending the past year as in-house counsel with Boliven, an independent research company that helps business development and financial professionals discover, analyze and value new technologies, products and companies in the life sciences and technology industries. He originally joined Bryan Cave in 2001 as an associate. Avigliano regularly counsels clients on matters concerning patent prosecution and litigation, interference proceedings, right-to-use and infringement studies and validity and enforceability studies. A significant portion of his practice focuses on chemical patent matters, representing clients in pharmaceuticals, polymer technology, cosmetics and food chemistry.

Avigliano received his J.D. in 2001 and his B.A. in 1998 from Hofstra University.
