Catherine Callaghan KC - Regulatory Lawyer

Catherine Callaghan KC took silk in 2018 and has become a leader in public and administrative law in the UK with regular instructions from government and regulatory bodies ranging from the General Medical Council to the Advertising Standards Authority. 

A Victoria University Law graduate who also retains her practising certificate in New Zealand, she contributes to the wider public policy debates taking place in the country, including as vice-chair of the Administrative Law Bar Association. 

She is widely recognised as a leading barrister in public and regulatory law, with a practice encompassing judicial review, statutory appeals, first instance and appellate professional disciplinary and regulatory hearings. 

She is the daughter of renowned physicist and startup innovator Sir Paul Callaghan, who died in 2012 whose pioneering work is continued through Callaghan Innovation.
