CHICAGO – 16 February 2005 – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – Ian S. Kopelman, chair of the Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation practice group of DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary US, will become the new legal counsel of the Profit Sharing/401(k) Council of America, the PSCA has announced.

Ian Kopelman is a nationally recognized figure in the field of employee benefits. In his private practice, he is responsible for all matters involving retirement and other fringe benefit programs for clients ranging in size from major publicly held corporations and public benefit plans to sole proprietorships and partnerships. With extensive experience in ERISA, Mr. Kopelman regularly counsels clients on plan implementation, administration, operation, and communication; designs and drafts both qualified and non-qualified retirement and deferred compensation plans; works extensively in the area of employee welfare benefit plans; and drafts master individual retirement account programs and employee pension benefit plans for banks, insurance companies, and brokerage houses.
Mr. Kopelman is also an adjunct professor of law at the John Marshall Law School and a frequent speaker who has written extensively in the area of employee benefits. The Leading Lawyers Network cites Mr. Kopelman as an Illinois Leading Lawyer. He is listed in Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in American Law.
