Chicago and New York, May 3, 2004 — Corporate attorney David H. Lee, recently a partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, has joined Kaye Scholer (www.kayescholer.com) as counsel in the firm’s Private Equity Practice in Chicago. At Kaye Scholer, he will continue to focus on mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts and venture capital and private equity transactions.
Mr. Lee’s practice focuses on complex business transactions including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, leveraged buyouts, venture capital investments, minority equity investments, and employment matters. He handles matters ranging from several million dollars to over $1 billion. Mr. Lee will join Gary R. Silverman, partner in the Chicago office. Mr. Silverman leads the Chicago Private Equity Practice and also recently joined Kaye Scholer from Kirkland & Ellis.
In announcing Mr. Lee’s arrival, Mr. Silverman said, “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with David again. We will continue to grow the business in Chicago, and David will play a vital role in that growth.” Mr. Lee stated, “I am excited at the prospect of joining the M&A and Private Equity practices at Kaye Scholer, and look forward to working side by side with Gary again.” Mr. Lee has a B.A. from the University of Chicago, and a J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law, and is fluent in Korean.
