Clifford Chance has announced the appointment of Alexandra Diehl, along with her 14 strong team who are joining the firm’s Frankfurt office from White & Case. This expansion of the firm’s global class actions capability in Europe follows other recent partners hires to the disputes practice in Australia, Spain, Italy and US.

Alexandra Diehl, who previously practised at Clifford Chance, is recognised for her leadership in collective redress, advising on, consumer, and mass-tort claims. Additionally, she brings considerable experience in arbitration, specifically investment arbitration, advising especially sovereign states.

The joining senior team includes Priscilla Tatschner, Lisa Becker and Lucas Marlow, enhancing the firm’s existing deep sector experience in Regulated Industries, especially healthcare and life sciences, as well as automotive and technology.

Matthew Newick, Global Head of Litigation & Dispute Resolution, said: “This is an important development for our global disputes practice. Welcoming Alexandra and her team reflects our commitment to delivering world-class service in class actions and complex litigation. Their arrival, alongside recent appointments such as Brad Woodhouse, Maria Guinot, Francesca Gesualdi, Joe Ostoyich, Will Lavery and Peter Isajiw, positions us to deliver seamless, high-quality advice across jurisdictions.”

Stefan Sax, Managing Partner, Germany, said: “Germany is rapidly becoming Europe’s epicentre for collective redress. This major team move deepens our bench and enhances our ability to support clients facing high-stakes, cross-border disputes. We’re proud to welcome Alexandra and this exceptional team to Clifford Chance.”

Alexandra Diehl said: “It’s a great pleasure to be returning to Clifford Chance. The firm’s collaborative culture and global platform provide the ideal environment to create advantage for our clients. I’m excited to work with colleagues in every region to deliver outstanding support in collective redress and other complex disputes for clients.”
