On September 27-28, Cravath partners Scott A. Barshay and Katherine B. Forrest will speak at “Mergers & Acquisitions: What You Need to Know Now 2007”, a two-day conference presented by the Practising Law Institute, to be held at the University of Chicago’s Gleacher Center in Chicago .
Scott will Chair the program and will speak as part of a panel on September 27 entitled “The Current Landscape: Recent Trends in M&A”. Panelists will discuss the current climate for M&A and M&A financing, legal developments in the global and U.S. M&A markets, and trends in strategies and tactics.
Also on September 27, Katherine will participate in a panel discussion entitled “Developments in the M&A Regulatory Environment”. Panelists will discuss how recent staff changes at the FTC, DOJ Antitrust Division and European Commission have affected investigations and enforcement of competition rules, what to expect in competition during the final year of the Bush Administration, and important trends that could affect a company’s appetite for pursuing mergers involving competitive overlap.
