DALLAS – LAWFUEL – Law Firm News – Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP announces that Kenneth Orgeron has joined as the first Chief Information Officer at the firm. He is responsible for all aspects of information resource management and technology in each of the firm’s four offices.
Mr. Orgeron joins the firm from Jones Walker LLP, the largest law firm in Louisiana, where he served as CIO for the past eight years. Based in the firm’s New Orleans office, he earned accolades for his highly successful implementation of a disaster recovery and business continuity plan on the eve of Hurricane Katrina. His plan has served as a blueprint for information technology studies at firms nationwide.
“Our law firm is very technology driven and we already have in place an outstanding team that has been leading our efforts,” says Gardere Managing Partner Steve Good. “The final piece of the puzzle was the addition of a CIO who has the vision to focus on long-term projects and planning. There are few people who possess the expertise Ken has and we are very pleased that he has joined our firm to provide this leadership.”
While at Jones Walker, Mr. Orgeron managed the firm’s information systems and served as the primary liaison for the Information Technology Department. He was responsible for all data storage and transfer projects.
A 1992 graduate of the University of New Orleans, Mr. Orgeron is a 13-year veteran of the United States Army Reserve, serving as an Automation Program Staff Officer.
