The firm won the 2009 Distinguished Law Firm Award for the article “The Globalization of SEC Enforcement Activities,” written by partner Paul R. Berger and associate Erin W. Sheehy and originally published in The Review of Securities & Commodities Regulation in October 2008.
Paul R. Berger is a litigation partner and is resident in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, where he focuses his practice on securities litigation, enforcement and white collar criminal defense matters. He is recognized as a leading lawyer by Legal 500 US (2008) and Chambers USA (2008), with the latter praising him for his “encyclopedic knowledge of FCPA regulations and experience with anti-bribery laws.” Prior to joining Debevoise, he was an Associate Director of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Enforcement.
Erin W. Sheehy, a member of the firm’s litigation department and also in the Washington, D.C. office, focuses on securities litigation, enforcement and white collar criminal defense. Her articles have been published in International Financial Law Review and Directors & Boards Boardroom Briefing: The Legal Issue, in addition to The Review of Securities & Commodities Regulation.
