Detroit – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – Foley & Lardner LLP announced today that Patrick G. LePine joined the Firm’s Detroit office as a member of the Health Law Department and Health Industry Team. The addition of LePine, 43, follows the recent announcement that Chris Rossman, a nationally recognized authority in payments and compliance law with 29 years of experience in corporate transactions, will chair the Firm’s health law practice in Michigan.

“The addition of Pat will add significant depth to the Firm’s new Michigan health law practice and will expand our strong existing capabilities in the Midwest and nationally,” said Rossman.

“Pat and Chris provide us with a solid foundation from which we plan to build our health law practice in Michigan and continue to strengthen our existing capabilities nationally,” said Jody Root, chair of the Firm’s Health Law Department.
Before joining Foley & Lardner, LePine was an integral member of the health care practice in the Detroit office of Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn, LLP. He has extensive experience in providing business counseling to hospitals and health systems, nursing homes, ambulatory surgery centers, diagnostic testing facilities, physician groups and other health care providers in connection with a variety of business transactions including acquisitions, affiliations, mergers, reorganizations, business formations and joint ventures.

In addition, LePine is experienced with respect to regulatory issues involving the licensing of health care facilities and certificates of need, and has successfully represented a number of health care providers in appellate proceedings involving certificates of need.
“In addition to further strengthening our payments and reimbursement capabilities in Michigan and nationally, Pat’s experience in counseling health law clients on regulatory and business issues adds depth to an important initiative for this office and complements many of our national practices,” said Steven H. Hilfinger, managing partner of Foley & Lardner’s Detroit office.

LePine received his juris doctorate, cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School. He received his undergraduate degree in business administration, summa cum laude, from Wayne State University.
