DLA Piper Boosts Norwegian IP Practice – Intellectual Property Legal Announcements

Oslo – LawFuel – Legal Announcement Service – DLA Piper has appointed intellectual property (IP) litigator Cecilie Haavik as a partner in its Technology Media and Commercial group (TMC). Cecilie joins from Norwegian law firm Grette where she was a partner.

Cecilie has over 13 years’ experience in IP law. Her practice focuses on patents, trademarks and IP and patent litigation. She also advises on media and marketing law, pharmaceutical regulations and transaction support and general commercial law. Prior to joining Grette, Cecilie was with the Norwegian office of DLA Nordic which integrated with DLA Piper in September 2006.

The Norwegian IP team has eight fee earners. The team provides advise on the full service protection for IP of domestic and international companies across all industry sectors, including biotech, finance, IT, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, energy, media and entertainment, and advertising.

Cecilie holds a law degree from the University of Oslo (1995). Her expertise is recognised by Chambers Europe 2008, Finansavisen’s annual peer review and Legal 500 EMEA 2008.
On 1 August 2008, Cecilie will officially join DLA Piper.
