DLA Piper Strengthens Corporate Practice and Increase India Focus

Singapore (LAWFUEL) – DLA Piper announced today the strengthening of its US corporate practice in Singapore and a significant addition to its India practice with the hiring of Biswajit Chatterjee, a leading India specialist. Mr Chatterjee joins as a Legal Director, based in DLA Piper’s Singapore office.

Mr Chatterjee, a member of the New York Bar, brings a 10 year track record of advising Indian and international clients on capital markets, private equity and M&A transactions to the firm. DLA Piper is not permitted to practice Indian law, but Mr Chatterjee will work closely within the DLA network and with local law firms in India to provide integrated cross-border advice.

Biswajit Chatterjee joins DLA Piper from the Singapore office of Allen & Overy. He has extensive experience advising issuers and investment banks in a variety of corporate finance transactions, including initial public offerings, secondary offerings and private placements. He has significant experience in Indian capital markets transactions and has also advised on various private equity investments.
