LAWFUEL – The Legal Newswire – Frankfurt – DLA Piper is pleased to announce that Dr Julia Schönbohm is to join its Frankfurt office as a partner in January 2008.
Julia joins DLA Piper from Clifford Chance, where she worked for over five years in a number of positions, most recently that of counsel. Her main areas of practice include IP and patent litigation. Julia has advised clients operating in a number of sectors, but has extensive experience working with chemical companies and those in the automotive and semiconductor industries.
Commenting on her appointment, Julia Schönbohm said: “I am looking forward to the challenge of advising clients as part of a highly professional, international team. Ultimately, it was DLA Piper’s commitment to growing the Technology, Media and Commercial (“TMC”) practice group that convinced me to join.”

The TMC practice in Germany now has ten fee earners including two partners. In line with expansion plans for the practice the patent litigation team is set to develop in the coming year. Additional lawyers with patent litigation experience will join Julia in DLA Piper’s office in Frankfurt am Main.
