Duer Joins Bryan Cave LLP in New York as a Partner

NEW YORK, November 16, 2007 – LAWFUEL – US Legal Announcements – John B. Duer has joined the international law firm Bryan Cave LLP as a partner in the firm’s New York office. He will be a member of Bryan Cave’s Banking, Business & Public Finance Group.

Duer’s practice focuses on representing corporate and investment fund clients in connection with senior, mezzanine and bond financings, investments, and non-public mergers and acquisitions, with an industry focus on energy transactions (oil and gas and renewables). He has substantial expertise with domestic and cross-border debt capital markets transactions, such as offerings of high-yield debt securities, leveraged acquisitions involving high-yield debt financings and other private placements and public offerings of debt securities. His experience extends to advising clients on medium-term note, commercial paper and other structured programmes, convertible/exchangeable debt securities and asset securitizations, as well as in connection with out-of-court restructuring and refinancing transactions involving debt securities.

In addition, Duer’s practice focuses on representing corporate trustees in connection with offerings of high-yield and investment-grade debt securities, convertible debt, trust preferred and hybrid securities, equipment trust receipts and other transactions involving collateral arrangements or agency roles, as well as advising corporate trustees in connection with restructuring of defaulted bond transactions. He has extensive experience with cross-border transactions involving multiple jurisdictions and layers of financing requiring creative structuring solutions to intercreditor, taxation, credit enhancement, market practice and clearing and settlement issues.

Duer received his J.D., magna cum laude, in 1993 from the University of Miami School of Law. In addition, he holds a M.S.B.A. from Boston University, which he received in 1989, and his B.A. from Dartmouth College, which he received in 1985. Duer served as a Captain, Field Artillery, in the United States Army from 1985 through 1990 and a Captain, Field Artillery, in the United States Army Reserve from 1990 through 1999.
