Finexcor S.A., a privately owned Argentine company, has announced the purchase of 50% of its capital stock by Cargill S.A.

Finexcor is one of Argentina’s leading meat slaughterhouses. It is the largest Argentine exporter of refrigerated and frozen meat and the second largest Argentine slaughterhouse in terms of revenue.

Cargill S.A., with approximately 1,800 employees in Argentina, is a long-standing leader in the agro-industrial sector, specializing in the processing and export of grains, oilseeds and wheat flour. The transaction marks Cargill’s entry into the meatpacking sector, an industry dominated by local players and in which foreign investment has been scarce in recent years.

Negri, Teijeiro & Incera, led by Federico Busso, represented the Sellers in the transaction.
