Former Justice Minister Simon Power Announced as Lawfuel’s Lawyer of the Year

Lawfuel.com – Former National Party Justice Minister Simon Power has been announced as New Zealand “Lawyer of the Year” by LawFuel.co.nz, the NZ law and legal news site.

Power, who resigned from Parliament at this year’s election, won by the National Party, has been involved in widespread legal reform in New Zealand in everything from the criminal justice system to the capital markets, election reform and alcohol legislation.

Lawfuel publisher John Bowie said it was a “no contest” award to make Power New Zealand lawyer of the Year. “No one else came close in terms of having a major impact on the New Zealand legal system. Simon Power’s unquestioned and constant change to the legal landscape made him the top contender.”

Simon Power is now a senior manager at Westpac Bank.
