(LAWFUEL) – Haynes and Boone, LLP has elevated eight attorneys as firm partners effective January 1, 2009.
The firm selected three new partners from the Dallas office:
Andy Ehmke is a member of the Intellectual Property Practice Group. The focus of his practice involves intellectual property portfolio development and management, with a focus on computer, video game and cyberspace law. Prior to joining Haynes and Boone, Andy was an information systems manager and consultant, and also worked as a programmer designing object-oriented programs for hand-held computing devices. He has been recognized as a “Texas Rising Star” in Intellectual Property Law by Texas Monthly and Law & Politics Magazine for five consecutive years (2004-2008).
Ian Peck, who splits time between the firm’s Dallas and Fort Worth offices, is a member of the Bankruptcy/Business Reorganization Practice Group. He represents debtors, creditors, and trustees in a variety of bankruptcy matters throughout the country. Ian has been selected as a “Texas Rising Star” in Bankruptcy & Creditor/Debtor Rights by Texas Monthly and Law & Politics Magazine each year since 2004 and named one of Tarrant County’s Top Attorneys by Fort Worth, Texas Magazine each year since 2005.
Aimee Minick is a member of the Business Litigation Practice Group. Aimee is experienced in representing entities involved in actions based on partnership dissolutions, tortious interference, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, and real property disputes. She also is experienced in franchise and distribution litigation including trademark infringement, breach of non-competition agreements, and breach of license agreements. Aimee has been named a “Texas Rising Star” by Texas Monthly and Law & Politics Magazine for the last four years and one of “The Best Lawyers under 40 In Dallas” by D Magazine in 2006.
Two new partners come from the firm’s New York office:
Ann Richardson is a member of the firm’s Finance Practice Group. She represents major financial institutions and non-traditional lenders such as private equity funds, hedge funds and venture capital funds in structuring and negotiating complex secured loans and financings. She also represents such lenders in the context of negotiated workouts and exit financings. Ann is a member of the American Bar Association.
Rick Werner is a member of the Corporate Practice Group, practicing primarily in the areas of general corporate and securities law, including public offerings and private placements, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and other transactions. Rick also advises clients on ‘34 Act reporting and corporate governance matters. Rick regularly represents privately held and publicly traded companies across a wide spectrum of industries, along with venture capital firms, investment banking institutions, high net worth individuals and other investors in various offerings and investment transactions. Rick is a member of the American Bar Association and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.
From the Richardson office, Murray Smith of the Haynes and Boone Intellectual Property Practice Group was elected partner. Murray has practiced intellectual property law for more than 27 years on behalf of clients ranging from individual inventors to high-tech start-ups to Fortune 500 corporations. He has counseled and represented clients in all areas of intellectual property law, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.
Brandon Jones of the Fort Worth office is a member of the Business Planning and Tax Practice Group His practice encompasses all areas of federal income taxation, as well as state, local and international taxation. Brandon has experience representing clients in numerous industries, including real estate, energy, transportation, financial health care and hospitality. He is a member of the Leadership Forth Worth Class of 2008, and has twice been named a “Texas Rising Star” by Texas Monthly and Law & Politics Magazine (2006, 2008) and a “Top Attorney in Tarrant County” by Fort Worth, Texas Magazine (2007, 2008).
From the firm’s Austin office, Rob Lauer of the Corporate and Franchising practices was named. Rob’s practice focuses on domestic and international franchise transactions. He has been named on the “The Best Lawyers in America” in franchise law (2008 and 2009), was co-recipient of the “Purveyor of the Year Award” from Outback Steakhouse International, LP (2007), and was named a “Texas Rising Star” by Texas Monthly and Law & Politics Magazine (2005, 2008).
