Haynes and Boone’s Arthur Carter Elected Fellow in College of Labor and Employment Lawyers

LawFuel.com – Legal Announcements – Arthur Carter, a partner in the Dallas office of Haynes and Boone, LLP has been elected to the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers as a fellow in the 2009 class and will be inducted at the Annual Installation to take place in Washington, D.C. later this year.

Mr. Carter’s election represents recognition by his colleagues for his outstanding performance in the field of labor and employment law, and honors his integrity, professionalism, character, and sustained contributions to the field. Admission to the College as a Fellow is one of the highest forms of recognition that can be accorded a Labor and Employment Lawyer.

Mr. Carter is board certified in labor and employment law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. With more than 30 years of traditional labor law experience, he has been singled out by Chambers USA in 2007, 2008 and 2009 as one of the leading labor and employment lawyers in Texas.

Mr. Carter advises clients on the labor law aspects of complex business transactions including mergers, acquisitions, asset and stock sales, business reorganizations and bankruptcy. He also counsels employers on strategic considerations relating to collective bargaining and labor relations, and regularly serves as principal spokesman for management in labor contract negotiations. Mr. Carter represents employers before administrative agencies such as the NLRB, OSHA, and the EEOC. In litigation matters, he handles whistle blower complaints under the health safety and environmental laws administered by OSHA, wrongful discharge, breach of employment contract, employment discrimination, employment-related torts and restrictive covenants.

In addition to his practice, Mr. Carter is an adjunct professor of labor law at Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law. He is a member of the American Bar Association Section of Labor and Employment Law. He serves on the Committee on the Development of the Law Under the National Labor Relations Act, the Committee on ADR in Labor and Employment Law, and on the Section of Litigation Committee on Employment and Labor Relations Law.
