Holland & Knight LLP today announced that Charles Welch “Chad” Tiedemann has been named head of the firm’s Real Estate Section. With more than 200 lawyers, Holland & Knight’s Real Estate practice is the largest at any law firm in the country.

Tiedemann has practiced in the areas of commercial real estate development and finance for over 20 years. He replaces Holland & Knight partner Stephen Moss, who will return to full time representation of clients in the areas of real estate development law; hotel and restaurant development and operations; and finance.

“Chad has already achieved a strong record of leadership at Holland & Knight,” said Managing Partner Howell W. Melton, Jr. “He is clearly dedicated to the continued success of our Real Estate practice and has a bold strategic plan to move us forward.”

“An industry team model that mirrors our clients’ business priorities and strong client service orientation sets Holland & Knight’s Real Estate practice apart from other large firms,” said Tiedemann. “We have a talented and collaborative group. Those strengths help us provide our clients with strategies and solutions for their business needs in the complex real estate industry.

In addition to serving as head of the Real Estate practice, Tiedemann will continue his real estate practice. He represents institutional owners, investors and developers of office, retail and multi-family projects.

Tiedemann earned his A.B. in 1978 from the University of Notre Dame and his J.D. in 1981 from The Catholic University of America.
