Hong Kong – 14 June – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary (“DLA Piper”) today announced the appointments of two partners, Minh Dang and Kevin Murphy. Minh and Kevin, who both join DLA Piper from White & Case, will be based in Hong Kong and Singapore respectively and will drive the development of the corporate practice across Asia.

Minh, an acknowledged specialist with over 20 years’ experience, has a proven track record in a wide variety of international transactions including acquisitions, joint ventures, public and private financings and restructurings. He regularly advises multinational companies investing in Asia and Asian companies investing internationally. Minh has also advised on significant acquisitions in the US and Europe as well as transactions across Asia including Malaysia, the Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam and Hong Kong. His transactional experience includes restructuring of venture capital investments, buy-outs, takeovers and exit planning.

Minh also has substantial experience in Vietnamese financings and has advised on most of the award-winning Vietnam financings completed in the last decade.

Kevin, who is widely recognised as a leading lawyer in his field, specialises in investments and acquisitions in Southeast Asia, project and equipment financings, and international and US financings, including debt restructurings. He has advised private companies, governments, and state-owned enterprises across the region on their activities in Asia and abroad. Kevin also advises clients from Europe and North America on their activities in Asia and has worked with several investment funds on structuring and executing their initial transactions in Asia, and on successfully exiting from such investments. Kevin’s overall transactions experience extends to Africa, Europe, North America, Australia as well as across most of Asia – including China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

Minh and Kevin combined have more than 35 years’ experience and both practised in the US before coming to Asia more than a decade ago. They will officially join later this Summer.
