Hong Kong - LAWFUEL - The Law News Network - DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary ("DLA Piper") is pleased to announce that it has appointed corporate and capital markets specialist, Matt Adler as a partner in its China practice. Matt has worked in China since 2000, representing domestic companies there in public and private securities offerings in the United States and venture capital firms investing in Asia. Matt will now play a key role in developing DLA Piper's China practice and will work closely with the US corporate and capital markets team to maximise international capability in this area. Prior to joining DLA Piper Matt worked for Clifford Chance. He began his career in New York in 1995 and has a long track record in international securities offerings, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, and venture capital financings. Matt has been involved in some of the most significant Chinese capital markets and M&A transactions to date, including the first Nasdaq IPO by a Chinese company, whom he continues to advise, as well as regularly advising foreign venture capital firms across Asia. Working alongside corporate partners, Mabel Lui, Kevin Murphy, Minh Dang and Mark Williams, Matt will initially be based in Hong Kong but is set to move to Beijing following DLA Piper's recent application to open an office there. A second office in China will further demonstrate DLA Piper's commitment to Asia at a time when there is increasing demand from mainland clients looking to complete IPOs and M&A transactions the US and Europe. The Beijing office is expected to open with up to 10 fee earners by the end of the year if the application is successful.
