HOUSTON, April 12 LAWFUEL – American Lawyer Newswire — On April 12, 2007, the Anti-Defamation League honored H. Lee Godfrey with the 2007 Karen H. Susman Jurisprudence Award. Mr. Godfrey is one of two co-managing partners of
Susman Godfrey L.L.P., a litigation boutique law firm with offices in
Houston, Dallas, Seattle, Los Angeles, and New York.

The Karen H. Susman Jurisprudence Award, given annually, is Houston’s
most prestigious award for lawyers. Past recipients include Stephen D.
Susman, Joseph D. Jamail, Catherine Lamboley, David Beck, Paul Stallings,
and Alvin Zimmerman to name a few. Harry P. Susman, a law partner of Mr.
Godfrey and the son of the late Karen H. Susman, chaired the gala luncheon at which Mr. Godfrey was honored by a crowd of more than 750 guests.

Mr. Godfrey, a trial lawyer, has represented plaintiffs and defendants on matters involving a wide range of complex litigation and arbitration
issues.

In 2007, Mr. Godfrey was named a “Leader In His Field” by Chambers USA in the areas of Antitrust, Energy & Natural Resources Litigation and
General Commercial Litigation. He was also named a “Leading Plaintiffs’

Mr. Godfrey has been awarded the Texas Law Review Association Leon Green Award “for outstanding contribution to the legal profession” and was named a “Barrister of the Year” by the University of Texas Board of Advocates. Mr. Godfrey has been selected as one of the top lawyers in Texas by The National Law Journal and was listed among the
top 15 American commercial trial lawyers in a recent survey conducted by
the International Commercial Litigation magazine.

Mr. Godfrey is a Fellow of the American Law Institute, the American
College of Trial Lawyers, the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, the
International Society of Barristers, the American Bar Foundation, the Texas Bar Foundation, and the Houston Bar Foundation.

He earned his J.D. with Honors in 1969 from the University of Texas
School of Law where he served as Managing Editor of the Texas Law Review
and was Order of the Coif and Chancellors. He received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin in 1966 after discharge from the U.S. Air Force. During his years in the Air Force, Lee attended the Yale University Institute of Far Eastern Languages, and served on active duty in Taipei, Taiwan.
