Jones Day partner Shannon Finch has been named to Australasian Lawyer’s first “Most Influential Lawyers” list. Ms. Finch, who is based in Jones Day’s Sydney Office, and is part of the Firm’s M&A Practice, was recognized in the “Changemakers” category for the inaugural list. The lawyers named in this category were chosen for being “leaders, innovators or catalysts for positive change in the profession.”

Ms. Finch has experience in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, equity capital markets, debt capital markets, restructuring, and workouts. She advises boards and companies on governance and M&A matters including continuous disclosure, directors duties, shareholder activism, takeover approaches, and executive compensation. Regarded as a pre-eminent corporate lawyer, Ms. Finch has been involved with Australian corporate law reform in the past four years as national Chair of the Corporations Committee of the Law Council of Australia. She made important contributions to emergency corporate law, capital markets, governance and insolvency measures that were implemented throughout the COVID-19 crisis. She has also been an active leader in the legal profession, including the Glass Elevator mentoring program and pro Bono work for Chief Executive Women.

“A place on the list is clear recognition and affirmation of a candidate’s hard work and dedication to rising above the unique challenges that the industry faces,” according to Australasian Lawyer.
