Kilpatrick Stockton announced today the election of Simela Karasavidis to its partnership. Ms. Karasavidis, who joined the firm’s London office in 2003, assumed partnership status on 1 January 2005.

This announcement comes just weeks after the high-profile additions to the London office of Helen Newman, Partner in the Intellectual Property Practice Group, and Mary O’Connor, Partner in the Litigation Practice Group.

Ms. Karasavidis is a member of Kilpatrick Stockton’s Projects Group. She has experience in a wide variety of industries and sectors including information technology, satellite technology, defence, education, science, health, energy (both upstream and downstream), water and wastewater, oil and gas (both upstream and downstream), prisons and property outsourcing.

Ms. Karasavidis also has extensive banking experience, having been seconded to Barclays Capital, the investment banking division of Barclays Bank plc, for a period. She has acted for both public and private sector clients, both in the UK and internationally, and has been involved in many large, complex and high-profile projects, including numerous PFI/PPP projects, financings, acquisitions and privatisations.

Ms. Karasavidis earned her LLB from University of Melbourne in 1993, and her LL.M., Hons from University of Melbourne in 2000. Additionally, she earned her B.Com., Hons, Commerce from the University of Melbourne in 1991.
