Law Chairman Honors Entrepreneur Joe Edwards

Meyer, Jr., chair of the Business & Real Estate practice group at law firm Capes, Sokol, Goodman & Sarachan, P.C.,honored visionary developer Joe Edwards and lauded publication of Edwards’ new book “St. Louis Walk of Fame: 140 Great St. Louisans” in ceremonies at St. Louis County Library headquarters for the St. Louis County Library Foundation.

 

Meyer introduced Edwards to a capacity audience noting that Edwards, who is founder of The Loop Business District, developed Blueberry Hill, the Tivoli Theatre, the Pageant concert venue, the Flamingo Bowl and Moonrise Hotel among many projects and is the driving force behind the Loop Trolley local transportation project.

 

“Joe’s unique vision has created an extraordinarily vibrant dining, arts, entertainment and business district in The Delmar Loop, which is a boon to the immediate neighborhood and all residents of the St. Louis region,” said Meyer.

 

Meyer cited Edwards’ “monumental love for St. Louis, deep appreciation for the social and cultural richness of our neighborhoods, willingness to take great risks and series of successes that have earned him countless awards and honors.”

 

Edwards developed the star-studded “St. Louis Walk of Fame” in the Delmar Loop, which is recognized as “One of the Ten Great Streets in North America” by The American Planning Association.

 

Edwards and his daughter Hope Edwards created the new book “St. Louis Walk of Fame: 140 Great St. Louisans” featuring historic photographs and biographies of 140 great St. Louisans who have a star on the St. Louis Walk of Fame. Book sale proceeds are donated to the non-profit St. Louis Walk of Fame organization.
