Dallas, TX, Jun 6, 2008 – LAWFUEL – Legal Announcements – Roland Love, a shareholder in Winstead’s Dallas Office, was elected to the law firm’s Executive Committee. Love replaces Bob Fisher who left Winstead to become general counsel for Winstead’s top 100 client, Camden Property Trust. Love chairs the Real Estate Litigation sub-practice group and is known for his strong leadership skills and dedication to the firm and its clients. Winstead’s Executive Committee is the governing body of the firm whose members include Denis Braham, Winstead’s CEO and chairman, Herb Albritton, Winstead’s executive director, and five other shareholders in addition to Love.
Love has been an attorney with Winstead since 1995. His areas of practice involve a wide variety of commercial litigation, title defense and real property disputes, regulatory matters before the Texas Department of Insurance, and he handles appellate cases throughout the state. Love is admitted to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office; the U.S. District Court for the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas; the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth and Eleventh Circuit; the U.S. Supreme Court; and the State Bar of Texas.
A frequent speaker and instructor, Love presents on topics including Texas homestead/home equity issues, title and lien issues, title insurance and survey considerations, and legislative and case law updates regarding real property. Love chairs the Texas Land Title Institute and the Texas Land Title Association Legislative Committee. He has been named a Texas Super Lawyer for the last three years and he received the Texas Land Title Association President’s Award, the Texas Land Title Association Peggy Hayes Teaching award, and the Texas Bar Foundation Outstanding Law Review Article award. Love received his J.D. from Southern Methodist University, Dedman School of Law, and his B.S. from Texas A&M University.
