Law Firm DLA Piper Appoints Capital Markets Team In Germany

Cologne – LawFuel – Law Firm Newswire – DLA Piper has appointed a team of five lawyers to its German Corporate practice. The team comprises partners Dr Andreas Meyer-Landrut and Kerstin Schnabel, and three associates join DLA Piper’s Cologne office from White & Case in Düsseldorf.

Andreas and Kerstin’s main area of expertise is corporate law, with a focus on capital markets. Andreas is a well-known specialist on IPOs, restructuring, capital-market related corporate reorganisation and stock corporation law aspects of M&A. In addition, he regularly acts on M&A transactions for public sector companies. Kerstin advises listed companies in the preparation and organisation of annual general meetings. She also assists businesses on structural and capital measures, such as share buyback programmes, subscription rights issues and share capital increases, as well as the legal aspects of changing the corporate status of a company, inter-company agreements and squeeze-outs.

Andreas, who recently advised Drägerwerk AG & Co KGaA on its change of status and the merger of listed company Broadnet AG with QSC AG, will be joined by associates Dr Cornelia Wendel, Meike Dresler-Lenz and Uta Carpier. Together the team acts for companies on a range of legal matters related to capital market compliance and corporate governance.
Andreas, 49, has a law degree from the Law School of the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms University in Bonn (1984) and a doctor’s degree from the University of Bonn (1988).

Kerstin Schnabel, 38, holds a law degree from the University of Heidelberg (1994).

The team will officially join on 1 August 2008.
