LAWFUEL – The Legal Newswire – A 29 y/o old woman from Hackney was today [1/8/07] sentenced at the Central Criminal Court for the manslaughter of her two children.
Vivian GAMOUR of Pembury Close, E5, had pleaded guilty on 22.6.07 to the manslaughter of her son Anton GAMOUR OGUN-KOYA (10 ys) and daughter Kenice GAMOUR OGUN-KOYA (3 ys) on the grounds of diminished responsibility.
She was sentenced to a period of detention, under a Section 37 Mental Health Order, at the John Howard Centre in Hackney (a psychiatric facility). She is also subject to a Section 41 Mental Health Order specifying that this is for an indefinite period.
Police were called at approx 09.25 on 27.1.06 to the address in Pembury Close re: reports of the death of two children.
Officers and LAS attended the address and the children were pronounced dead at the scene.
Vivian GAMOUR was arrested at the scene and subsequently charged with manslaughter.
Post mortems on both children were held on the 29.1.07 and 30.1.07. The results were inconclusive and further tests were carried out which gave a cause of death for the boy as head injuries and a cause of death for the girl as suffocation.
Officers from the Met’s Child Abuse Investigation Command investigated the case and was led by Detective Chief Inspector Dave Shepard.
