LAWFUEL – The Legal Newswire – Mr Nick Popov, a former director of RAN Holdings International Pty Ltd (In Liquidation), was yesterday found not guilty by a jury in the Sydney District Court in relation to one charge under the NSW Crimes Act 1900 arising from an investigation by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC).
It had been alleged that Mr Popov made a false statement to investors to encourage them to invest $245,000 into a joint venture with RAN Holdings International Pty Ltd (In Liquidation) for the development of a property in Victoria.
This matter was prosecuted by the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions.
