LAWFUEL – The Legal Newswire – Police from two states quizzed sex monster Derek Ernest Percy for eight hours yesterday over a string of unsolved child murders throughout the country after uncovering a cache of sickening documents the killer had hidden in storage for decades.
Almost 40 years after being jailed indefinitely for the murder of a 12-year-old snatched from a Victorian beach in 1969, Percy was interviewed yesterday about the unsolved murders or disappearances of eight children in the 1960s.
Among Percy’s suspected victims are the three Beaumont children, who disappeared from a beach in Adelaide in 1966, and 15-year-olds Christine Sharrock and Marianne Schmidt, who were stabbed at Wanda beach in Sydney in 1965.
NSW police are not currently investigating Percy in relation to the Wanda beach murders but yesterday talked to him about the brutal murder of toddler Simon Brook, whose badly mutilated body was found a day after disappearing in May 1968.
