NEW YORK, May 26, 2009 — Quinn Emanuel Urquhart Oliver & Hedges LLP announced today that Christine Chung will join the firm’s New York office as a partner. From 1991 to 2003, Ms. Chung served at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York and subsequently as Counsel at Shearman and Sterling LLP in New York. She joins Quinn Emanuel after working for several years at the International Criminal Court in The Hague where she was a Senior Trial Attorney and the highest-ranking American professional.
Ms. Chung has extensive experience in complex criminal and civil litigation. While at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, she held the position of Chief of Criminal Appeals, after serving in both the Criminal and Civil Divisions. She conducted dozens of jury trials, including high-profile securities and insurance fraud cases. On the civil side, her experience includes evidentiary hearings, trials and appeals in fraud, tort, tax, environmental, and bankruptcy matters. While in private practice, Ms. Chung also represented clients in internal investigations and securities fraud cases.
