Leading Europe-China Legal And Business Adviser Ghislain De Mareuil Joins DLA Piper

Shanghai – LAWFUEL – Law Firm Newswire – DLA Piper today announced the arrival of Ghislain de Mareuil, a corporate specialist, who joins as partner. Ghislain’s appointment will strengthen DLA Piper as it continues its expansion in the People’s Republic of China (“PRC”) and further develops its thriving European practice in Asia. Ghislain has a strong track-record advising European companies and organisations investing or operating in the PRC and advises mainland Chinese companies with business interests in the European Union.

Ghislain brings a depth of experience advising clients in cross-border transactions with particular strengths in M&A, investment structuring and financing, restructuring, asset acquisition, disposal and divestiture. In addition, he provides counsel to clients on corporate social responsibility, commercial law and international dispute resolution issues.

Prior to joining DLA Piper, Ghislain worked in France and China in a well-respected international law firm. His legal expertise is reinforced by a substantial business background, having worked as a management consultant with an international business consultancy and also as a non-governmental organisation deputy coordinator. Ghislain, who has worked in Beijing, Shanghai, Japan and Cambodia, will further deepen the global legal services organisation’s ability to assist clients operating between Europe and China.

Ghislain is admitted as a laureate to the Paris Bar Association and holds a Masters in Law from the Paris Pantheon Sorbonne University and in International Business from the Paris Dauphine University. He is also a graduate of the Paris Institute of Political Studies (“Sciences Po”). Ghislain speaks fluent French and English, and has some knowledge of Mandarin Chinese.
