Mr. Harmala has over 13 years of experience in government and government relations serving on the staff of Congressman Howard Berman (D-CA); Counsel to the International Operations Subcommittee of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs; and as a government relations attorney in a top 25 lobby practice at a law firm in Washington, DC. He has multiple areas of expertise, including intellectual property, appropriations, tax, telecommunications, Native American issues, and foreign relations. A significant portion of his practice is focused on work for Native American groups, which complements the firm’s expanding Native American Affairs Practice.

Mr. Harmala earned an A.B. from the University of California at Berkley and his J.D. from the University of Southern California. He is admitted to practice in California and Washington, DC.

Mr. Huey, recently named one of the country’s “100 Most Influential Media & Entertainment Lawyers” by Hollywood Reporter, has over 13 years of experience advocating public policy matters in the communications, media, and entertainment sectors. He specializes in legislative and regulatory advocacy before Congress, the Administration, and the FCC. Mr. Huey is actively involved in policy issues affecting the entertainment and media industries, including media concentration, broadcast decency, arts education and funding, artists’ first amendment rights, and protecting domestic film production. He has extensive experience in the area of telecommunications regulation of telephone, wireless, satellite, and high-speed Internet services, having previously worked in the Legislative & Regulatory Division of BellSouth Corporation’s General Counsel office. Mr. Huey, who has written three screenplays including one which was a finalist for the 2004 Sundance Feature Film Screenwriters Lab, is regularly quoted in leading publications on media and entertainment issues.

Mr. Huey earned a B.B.A., cum laude, from the University of Miami and his J.D. from the University of Notre Dame. He is admitted to practice in Georgia and Washington, DC.
