(Denville, NJ – June 18, 2018) – Patricia Barbarito, Managing Partner of Einhorn, Harris, Ascher, Barbarito and Frost PC, was honored on May 31 with a “Servant Leader Award”at the “Lawyers and Accountants Dinner” presented by Eva’s Village, the Paterson, NJ-based provider of programs and services for people who are struggling with poverty, hunger, homelessness and addiction.

“Having grown up in Paterson, I understand the shame and hardship that is associated with poverty, homelessness, and addiction. The work that Eva’s Village does resonates with me; places like Eva’s Village were not available years ago,” noted Barbarito. “People in tough circumstances need a place to turn to, and Eva’s Village allows people in need to get help, without feeling shame.”

Barbarito, who focuses her legal practice on family law, was honored along with John Cromie, Esq. of Connell Foley LLP, and Marqus White, CPA of Sax LLP for their service to Eva’s Village and the local community of Paterson. The event aimed to raise awareness and vital funding for more than 20 integrated programs at Eva’s that serve thousands of men, women and children struggling with poverty, homelessness, mental illness and addiction each year. Nearly $115,000 was raised to support the organization and its programs.

According to Gregory Floyd, Eva’s Executive Vice-President of Mission, “In recognizing Pat and her fellow honorees, we appreciate the dedication they have shown to supporting our mission. With their help, Eva’s Village can continue to offer new services addressing the opioid crisis, as well as life-saving programs that have been providing hope and help for our neighbors in need for 36 years.”

Barbarito added, “Eva’s Village provides struggling individuals with the strength and resources to work toward a brighter future. The staff is committed to helping others transform their lives. Many programs rely on private donations, and we can help by fundraising, volunteering and spreading the word about this tremendous organization in Paterson.”

Funds raised will support the overall operations and the community of care that defines Eva’s Village, as well as several programs – Eva’s Community Kitchen, Medical and Dental ClinicsChildcare and Education and Eva’s Culinary School. Last year, the treatment programs and Eva’s Recovery Community Center, together, engaged nearly 2,300 individuals in various stages of recovery; Eva’s Community Kitchen served more than 520,000 meals; the Medical and Dental Clinic handled almost 6,000 patient visits; and Eva’s shelter and housing programs provided a safe haven to over 600 adults and children.
