Litigator Saul P. Morgenstern has joined Kaye Scholer LLP (www.kayescholer.com) as a partner in the firm’s highly-regarded Antitrust Group. At Kaye Scholer, he will continue to focus on complex litigation, principally in the areas of antitrust (civil and criminal) and trade regulation, as well as representations before federal regulatory and enforcement bodies.

Mr. Morgenstern, who has tried cases before federal and state courts, federal agencies and international arbitral tribunals, has represented clients in a variety of industries, including computer hardware and software, entertainment, insurance, investment banking, leasing, leisure, real estate, pharmaceutical, publishing telecommunications and toy industries. Morgenstern clerked at the United States Department of Justice, Antitrust Division, before beginning a 22-year career at Dewey Ballantine. He has joined Kaye Scholer’s New York office. Kaye Scholer LLP has approximately 500 attorneys worldwide, with more than 350 in its New York office.

In announcing their new partner, Randy Sherman, Chair of Kaye Scholer’s Antitrust Group, said:

“Kaye Scholer’s Antitrust Group has for years been the gold standard in antitrust representation. Since Milton Handler started the practice here more than 50 years ago, Kaye Scholer attorneys have successfully represented major industry players in a variety of antitrust litigations. With the addition of Saul Morgenstern, we are fortunate to be adding an accomplished and well-respected antitrust practitioner to our offices. We know he will enhance our reputation and provide significant additional depth to our antitrust practice for many years to come.”

Mr. Morgenstern said he decided to move his practice to Kaye Scholer because of the firm’s stellar reputation for talented litigators and as one of the top antitrust litigation groups in the country.

“I had many happy years working alongside first rate lawyers at Dewey Ballantine. Over the past twenty years, I have been co-counsel with, and become friends with, many of Kaye Scholer’s excellent lawyers, particularly in the Antitrust practice. When they offered me the opportunity to work with them daily I couldn’t pass it up,” said Morgenstern. “We have a mutual track record of high-level trial experience and success in complex cases where there is much at stake for our clients.”

Mr. Morgenstern received a B.S. from Boston University and a J.D. with Distinction from Hofstra University School of Law. In addition to maintaining an active pro bono practice, he is active in the Antitrust Section of the American Bar Association, is a member of the Executive Committee of the NY State Bar Association Antitrust Section and of the Public Service Committee of the Federal Bar Council.
