LOEB & LOEB EXPANDS NATIONAL PATENT LITIGATION PRACTICE

John M. Griem, Jr. Joins as Partner in the New York Office

NEW YORK, June 20, 2011 – Loeb & Loeb LLP announced today that John M. Griem, Jr., will join the firm’s New York office as a partner in the Patent Litigation Practice. He joins from the New York office of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP where he was also a partner.

Griem concentrates his practice on intellectual property litigation, particularly pharmaceutical and biotech patent litigation, including complex Hatch-Waxman cases. He has led major patent litigation in the pharmaceutical, diagnostic testing, medical products, and consumer electronic fields, among others. He also has significant experience leading trademark litigation and addressing antitrust claims and counterclaims. Additionally, Griem’s practice includes analyzing and negotiating license and technology development agreements and addressing intellectual property issues arising in corporate and finance transactions. He acts as the Vice-Chair of the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Issues Committee of the Intellectual Property Owners Association.

Griem earned his A.B. in Chemistry and Psychology from Dartmouth College and his J.D. with distinction from Hofstra University School of Law where he was on the editorial board of the Law Review.
