London – 4 April 2005 – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – Corporate lawyers at DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary (“DLA Piper”) advised Five Arrows Leasing Group on its sale of two motor finance businesses with an enterprise value of £70 million. Five Arrows Leasing Group sold County Leasing & Finance Limited and Benton Finance Limited to The Funding Corporation Limited (“TFC”). TFC will take control of the two companies in April 2005.
Tom Whelan, corporate partner, led the DLA Piper team acting on the deal and was assisted by corporate assistant, James O’Malley, corporate tax partner, Michael McCormack, and tax assistant, Kassim Maghjee and trainee solicitors Lisa Hyde and Nicholas Peters. Non corporate aspects of the team were handled by technology, media & communications solicitor, Christina Pettit, real estate solicitor, Juliet Rayner, pensions solicitor, Matthew Swynnerton, employment solicitor, Vinita Arora and regulatory assistant, Helen Whiteaker, each of whom supported Tom in providing a comprehensive service for Five Arrows.
