London – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary (“DLA Piper”) today announces the expansion of its aviation finance team with the appointment of James Cameron as a partner.
James joins from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer’s finance department. His specialisations include aircraft finance and leasing, structured and tax-based asset finance and leasing company acquisitions/sales and asset portfolio acquisitions/sales. James acts for a broad range of banks, lessors, manufacturers and operators located worldwide.

DLA Piper’s aviation finance team comprises four partners and six assistants working for a diverse client base that includes major airlines, arrangers, banks, lessors and manufacturers, who it advises on new and used aircraft and engine procurement, financing and leasing transactions. The team also advises on the acquisition, financing and leasing of various other assets, including ships and rolling-stock, in close coordination with DLA Piper’s tax and commercial & projects departments. In the last two years the team has worked on transactions with a combined value in excess of US $10bn.
