London, United Kingdom – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – International law firm Dechert LLP advised the management of Inmedia Communications Ltd in its sale by the Carlyle Group and management to Arqiva for £68.5m.
Inmedia is an independent broadcasting and media infrastructure company primarily focusing on the provision of satellite uplinking and support services to some of the UK’s leading broadcasters including the BBC, BSkyB and Reuters. It is led by CEO Nick Thompson and Chairman Richard Vos.
Transmissions services company Arqiva is owned by Australia’s Sydney-based Macquarie Bank, which has been expanding into the broadcasting industry, most notably with its recent £166m acquisition of BBC Broadcast, the public broadcaster’s transmission arm. The purchase of Inmedia adds further momentum to Macquarie’s determined expansion into the broadcasting sector.
