LOS ANGELES, CA – June 9, 2005 – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – As announced to the markets this morning, O’Melveny & Myers client Catellus, one of the top public industrial REITs, has signed a deal to be acquired by ProLogis, the largest public industrial REIT, in a $5 billion merger – the largest real estate deal in 2005. With this deal and the firm’s representation of Macerich in its $2.5 billion acquisition of Wilmorite that closed a month ago, O’Melveny & Myers has handled two of the largest REIT M&A deals of the year.

The deal involved an incredible effort by an O’Melveny & Myers legal team led by partner Mark Easton. The O’Melveny & Myers team included mergers & acquisitions partner Fred McLane, counsel Christine Tam, and associates Victor Chen, Andrew Ellis, Chris Morris, Carolyn Heiser and Anita Choi.
