Los Angeles — Foley & Lardner LLP announced today that Pamela L. Johnston joined the Firm’s Litigation Department in its Los Angeles office. For the past four years, Johnston, 42, was a Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division’s Major Frauds Section in the United States Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles.
“Pam’s experience as a federal prosecutor will benefit our clients who are seeking counsel on government enforcement actions, white collar criminal litigation or complex civil litigation,” said Richard W. Lasater II, managing partner of Foley’s Los Angeles office. “She will add substantial depth to our practice nationally and in Los Angeles.”
Johnston is a partner and member of Foley’s White Collar Defense & Corporate Compliance and Securities Litigation, Enforcement & Regulation Practice Groups. She practices in the areas of governmental enforcement actions, white collar criminal litigation, and complex civil litigation. Johnston will represent companies and individuals in parallel civil and criminal proceedings initiated by regulatory and prosecuting agencies for a variety of alleged wrongdoing, including securities violations, corporate embezzlement, health care fraud, pension fraud and public corruption.
Johnston served for 14 years as an Assistant United States Attorney in both the criminal and civil divisions, handling numerous complex fraud cases. She also served as a Computer and Telecommunications Crimes Coordinator for the United States Attorney’s Office, during which she coordinated the Office’s prosecution of intellectual property cases, computer hacking cases and corporate espionage cases. Johnston twice received the prestigious Director’s Award from the United States Attorney General for Superior Performance as an Assistant United States Attorney.
Johnston received her undergraduate degree from the University of California at Davis. She received her law degree from the University of California at Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law where she graduated Order of the Coif.
