Madeleine McCann’s Mother Interviewed By Police – Her Greatest Fear – Video

LAWFUEL – The Legal Newswire – The mother of missing four-year-old Madeleine McCann is terrified she will be seen as a suspect in the hunt for her missing daughter after being formally questioned by police, a friend has revealed.

Video relating to the police interview may be seen on The Telegraph website at http://www.telegraph.co.uk/portal/popup/ttv/morenews.jhtml;jsessionidVJVOBHGSJDR15QFIQMGCFF4AVCBQUIV0

The part-time GP was accompanied by a lawyer as she faced Portuguese detectives at an Algarve police station without husband Gerry by her side.

It was the first time the 39-year-old had been officially interviewed since the day after four-year-old Madeleine disappeared on May 3.

Mr McCann, also 39, will be questioned separately on Friday at the same police station in Portimao, 30 miles from Praia da Luz where their daughter went missing.

The couple from Rothley in Leicestershire, had planned to leave the Algarve this Sunday after 127 days with no news and told police of their plans.

But on Monday night, detectives rang Mr McCann on his mobile phone to tell him that they wanted to speak to the couple individually as witnesses – Kate first.

The request came in the same week as the Portuguese authorities received the results of forensic tests carried out in the UK, described by sources as significant enough for police to consider taking action.
